Do you like to use poppy seeds when baking?  Doesn’t it look delicious? My young pastry chef Mia made this beauty!

I love pastries with poppy seeds.
My grandma often baked pies and rolls with poppy seeds. I love that crunch in every bite!

Super easy to make, this Poppy Seeds Cake is light, tender and perfectly sweet will be good for almost any occasion!

Would you like a piece of cake?

Ingredients:

3 eggs
220g sugar
110ml vegetable oil
110ml buttermilk
110g sour cream
60g poppy seeds
320g flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Step 1

In a big bowl mix together the eggs and sugar for about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Add vegetable oil, buttermilk and sour cream. Mix again until all the ingredients are mixed well.

Step 3

Add the poppy seeds and give it a quick stir.

Step 4

Add all the dry ingredients to the mixture and stir again.

Step 5

Transfer the butter to a baking dish and bake at 350F for 50-60 min.

Step 6

Let it cool completely. Then decorate it with a little bit of powdered sugar dust.

Notes:

The baking time will depend on the size of your baking dish and your oven.

I use a silicone mold that is 5.5-inches tall and 8-inches wide at the top.

Enjoy!
