Today I’m going to show you how to make Dark Chocolate Walnut Cookies. These bittersweet, rich chocolate cookies with a nice crunch of walnuts are a perfect treat for all chocolate lovers.

Ingredients:

115g dark chocolate (I use 70%)
75g sifted flour
20g cocoa powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
55g soften butter
100g sugar
1 egg
50g chopped walnuts

Step 1

Microwave the chocolate for 20 seconds (or 10 seconds if at a high temperature) then take the bowl out and give it a stir. Place the bowl back in the microwave and repeat the process of cooking for another 20 seconds, stopping, stirring and returning to the microwave until the chocolate has melted. Set aside to cool down.

Step 2

Mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda and set aside. Whip the soften butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 3

Add one egg and keep mixing until incorporated. Add half of the dry ingredients and mix again.

Step 4

Add the melted chocolate and the rest of the dry ingredients and stir well.

Step 5

Add the chopped walnuts and give it a final stir. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the chocolate batter for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or Teflon mat.

Step 7

Scoop out 1-2 tablespoonful of batter with a cookie scoop (or small ice cream scoop), and place onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 12-15 minutes.

Step 8

Carefully transfer the cookies onto a cooling rack and cool completely before serving.

Note:

Depends on the size of your cookies the baking time will vary, so after 10 minutes start to check the readiness of the cookies with a skewer or toothpick.
Don’t bake them to long or they will be dry.
